CPH Group's Has An Established History Of Providing Creative Solutions That Are Innovative, Practical & Cost Effective

Our passion for "Creating Solutions" has led to the establishment of a vast range of tried and proven products that effectively combine the virtues of innovation, practicality and cost-effectiveness.

We recognise the need for stringent quality control and vigorously pursue a pro-active approach to product development through consultation with printer operators, signwriters, sign installers, architects, corporate designers and engineers.

1850s

The Hornsey family arrives in Australia, continuing their London house-painting trade.

1940s

Charles Percival Hornsey (CPH) takes over operation of the business and establishes a paint supplies shop in Geelong - CP Hornsey & Son is born.

1950s

A state-of-the-art showroom and store is built to service the paint needs of both retail and trade customers.

1960s

CP Hornsey & Son begin to specialise in signwriting paints and supplies (Viponds $ Solver) to meet increasing demand. Innovation starts early with the trademarking of own-brand Hornsey’s Surge Paints in 1965.

February 1965

In November 1965, an Australia trademark registration was filed for Hornsey’s Surge Paints by CP Hornsey & Son - the image below shows the original documentation.

1984

Grandson, and current Director, Doug takes over the business and continues under the name of CPH Sales.

1988

The advent of self adhesive PVC (Vinyl) changes the face of the sign industry. Roland DG come to Australia and introduce automated vinyl cutters.

1995

CPH introduces Multi-fix-A leading self adhesive PVC brand in Europe to the Australian Sign Industry.

2004

CPH moves into a new larger warehouse due to growth throughout the Victorian Sign Industry.

2006

CPH introduces PROBOND Aluminium Composite Panel to the Australian Sign industry and quickly changes the way the industry produces signs using this new alternative substrate. It is still the leading brand of ACP today. Large stocks of PROBOND onsite is testament to its popularity - based on its performance and reliability.

2010

Neoprint Self Adhesive Print materials are introduced to the Australian wide-format print market with CPH Group as exclusive Australian distributor.

2011

CPH moves to its purpose-built head office and warehouse facility and launches it’s extensive range of products throughout Australia with salespersons in most states.

2014

CPH introduces Grip&Grab Adhesive to the Australian Sign Industry forever changing the way signage is installed.

2014

CPH launches global industry leading e-Commerce platform for 24/7 ordering at www.cphgroup.com.au

2017

CPH’s commitment to research and development to provide innovative products to the industry sees the launch of Supatac Self Adhesive Vinyl.

2020

CPH Group introduces high quality cast acrylic sheets SIGNCRYL to the Australian market.

2022

In pursuit of becoming a leader for change CPH Group introduces the ECO Range of Environmentally Friendly Products

Today

CPH is based in their 6000m2 Super Sized warehouse and head office which was constructed in 2020 with the ability to dispatch goods in 59 minutes or less!
